Who we are

Lantern Psychiatry is the independent practice of Dr Nathan Patrick Corbett (MD, MSc, FRCPC), located in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia (E'se'katik, Mi'kma'ki).

Certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Dr. Corbett’s work is guided by a dual commitment to evidence-based pharmacotherapy and depth-oriented psychotherapy. With every case, Dr. Corbett endeavours to synthesize biological, social, and person-centred approaches that honour the patient’s subjective experience.

Dr Corbett earned his medical degree at Dalhousie University and completed psychiatry residency at the University of Toronto. He also holds a Master of Science in Experimental Medicine from the University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biology from Acadia University. Dr. Corbett’s undergraduate and graduate theses focused on furthering our understanding of the immune system.

Having grown up in Bear River, Nova Scotia, Dr. Corbett is sensitive to the unique challenges and opportunities that come with providing mental health services in rural and underserved communities, and is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals in these areas.

Outside the consulting room, Dr. Corbett is an avid reader and technology enthusiast.
